Our thermoplastic-coated picnic tables offer the smoothest and most beautiful plastic coating available. The thermoplastic is electrostatically applied and baked onto the steel to completely cover the top and seating surfaces. This gives it a strong bond with a high gloss and long-lasting finish. One great characteristic of this finish is that it is resistant to vandals’ graffiti. WD-40 can simply be sprayed on removing vandals’ markings. Schools appreciate this product for that reason as well as the many vibrant colors available.
Choose from the popular round, square, or traditional rectangular shapes. The walk-thru frame gives easy access without stepping over the seat to sit. Generally, a six-foot picnic table will seat six adults while an eight-foot table will seat eight. Child size thermoplastic picnic tables are also available. Plastisol is a liquid plastic that the frame of the picnic table seats and tops is dipped into. The liquid plastic dries and leaves the steel encapsulated with a smooth and shiny finish. Because of this, plastisol picnic tables offer a good combination of strength and attractiveness.
Before this process was developed, wood picnic tables were about the only choice available for commercial picnic tables. The original picnic table product is made from expanded steel. This is a product that the oil industry used for platforms and stairways as it was sturdy, drained excess water, and was easy to make.
